Young Europeans are under pressure s a result of the rising youth unemployment which makes it easier to exploit young people as cheap labor. Through the new project Decent Work for European Youth, FIC works with project partners from Italy, Ireland and Belgium to find a solution to how we can ensure decent working conditions for young people in Europe.
The youth constitute the largest part of the population in Kenya and young people are a great resource for the country's economic growth. Unfortunately, youth unemployment is a major problem in Kenya and its ability to reduce poverty
depends on ensuring that young people get qualified for a decent job or being able to start and run their own business on acceptable terms.

On the first of January Denmark celebrated 40 years as a member of the EU. In this context AOF Denmark and FIC invited two experienced politicians, Mogens Lykketoft and Poul Nielson and more than 80 people for a look back upon the past, and a debate about visions and challenges for the future of the EU.
A new calendar year within the NGO world usually means a lot of new projects - and 2013 is no exception. Right now we are well under way in writing applications on future projects. Already the first January some new projects were launched both in the international field and in Europe. You can read more about it here.
Since 2007, FIC has supported and worked together with organised women's groups in Tigania West of Mount Kenya, 250 km north of Nairobi. A partnership ending this year. So what have we achieved over the last 5 years of cooperation and has the situation of women in society changed for the better?
